Treat high blood pressure with medication

I'm sure you know by now - and you certainly will if you have browsed around this site - that there are lots of ways to treat high blood pressure.

Many people are able to achieve their blood pressure goals by simply changing their diet or by altering their lifestyle.

Salt reduction certainly helps - you'll be horrified at how easy it is for salt to sneak its way into your diet and play havoc with your blood pressure. If you feel up to it then here's a way to test it out: go all out for it and take a diet consisting only of fruit and low fat yogurt for up to a week. You can have as much fruit as you want and as much yogurt as you want - and take your normal fluid intake. In effect you'll be having a diet with almost no fat and almost no salt. I did it and the results were remarkable. My blood pressure levels came down by more than ten points systolic when I checked on my BP monitor.

Weight loss is also now proven as a method to treat high blood pressure. You can expect a ten kilogram weight loss to lower your blood pressure readings by ten on the scale.

But for many of us - medication is still needed to treat high blood pressure and with that comes all the side effects and problems that we are all too familiar with.

Treatment For Blood Pressure

Treatment for blood pressure

Now - as some of the readers of this site will know, I've been involved in helping people to deal with their high blood pressure for a long time now.

I do my best to give good quality blood pressure advice and try very hard to be open minded and impartial. You're just as likely to read me rabbit on about blood pressure vitamin supplements as you are about the side effects of common blood pressure medications.

Those of you who receive my regular newsletters about high blood pressure (sign up for it below if you would like it) enjoy my chatty and supportive writing style. I'm not one to push the issue on what you should read or buy .... but .... !

I received an email last week from a guy called Paul Johnson. Now, Paul is not a doctor but he has suffered from high blood pressure himself and with a lot of energy and effort found a way to treat his condition without medication. He's put his experiences together in a book and packaged it along with a range of other helpful stuff about cholesterol and dietary tips.

Trust me folks, there is no bigger cynic in the world when it comes to the value (or otherwise) of ebooks and internet information products! This time I'm taking a different view. I bought myself a copy of Pauls book and to be truthful it is excellent. I can't commend it to you highly enough. There's no promise of course that you will be able to come off all blood pressure medications but at the very least you should be able to reduce your dose - and hopefully avoid all those well known blood pressure medication side effects.

Check out Pauls book here. Give it a try. I'm certain you will find it worthwhile
